Today was quite an eventful day for prospective students, parents, faculty members, ambassadors, admissions staff, and all others who were involved in the Presidential Scholarship Competition. Despite the busy morning of essays and interviews, all of the students persevered while making new friends and experiencing the campus.
I cannot believe that an entire year has elapsed since I sat in the very same essay room in Mount Memorial, staring at the blue book while I wondered what to write about. Also, today while I played "Apples to Apples" with an outgoing group of Michigan students in the game room, I could picture myself in their place; the same class-room awaiting my interview. What excites me most about helping with PSC this year is that many of the friendly faces I met and talked to will be attending Grace in the fall. Also, it was a blessing to hear from so many students' mouths how God is leading them to Grace and that they could really see themselves striving academically and spiritually in the Grace atmosphere. As a result of the 2008 Presidential Scholarship Contest, I decided to attend Grace. Although, this may not be the same case for all of the prospective students this weekend, all students deserve congratulations for enduring the somewhat stressful competition and encouragement to seek the Lord's will for their lives no matter what college they attend.
